A cracking day from very little play. Woke up not long before five and decided to log on to Betfair poker, got into a game with names that were all new to me which is a good sign in the wee small hours of a Sunday morning and bagged $78 so stopped there. Had another session and nicked a few dollars, went to Athlone, bought some new clobber, had lunch in Ballinasloe and went home. Had another short session, went to the pub, had 3 pints, came home, had another session and finished $200 up for the day which I'm well chuffed with. Nothing more to add.
Back to work tomorrow but I've had a great 3 days off as far as the poker front is concerned!

Saturday 12th May
A very good day all round. Got up without too much of a hangover from the previous nights poker in the pub and met Padraig for breakfast in a nice cafe. Bought the Racing Post on the way in for some strange reason, I hardly ever bet on the horses these days due to the fact that doing so has cost me a fair whack in the past. Saw a bookies advert for odds on the Hearts v Hibs game, had no idea the Jambos were playing them today so after getting through a fry I headed to the pub and watched Edinburghs finest beat the wee team 2-0 thanks to a defensive error in the first minute and a howler from the Hibs 'keeper. Had a few pints during the game and headed home.
I played a few games of poker in the afternoon, nicking a few pots here and there and ended up making $178 in 3 seperate sessions, one of which was a $10 super turbo six pak which was a mad game, only played it as I was bored and it was a better alternative to going out on the sauce as that would have led to a Sunday hangover, something I could do without so all in all I was well happy with my day.
I was pondering staying up through the night to play as people came home from a night out and hit the tables but decided against and was asleep by half twelve, I must be getting old!

A good day, nothing spectacular and won $63 just grinding it out. Played in the pub at night, one €20 tournament which I won making a profit of €90 which will pay for a few beers on Saturday.

I managed to get my computer problem fixed thankfully, needed a new cable and had to get rid of some of the rubbish that was using up the memory. Went to the pub and played the usual €20 buy in, €10 buy back and €10 top up for anyone who did not buy back. Had 11 players all on the one table and I got to heads up after being in a bit of a pickle earlier on. Playing against a bloke who I should be able to beat every time buy struggle to cope against his maniac play. I offered to split the pot to which he agreed which bagged me €150 from an initial €30 put into the pot so I was delighted.
Played a short while online banking $55 so all in all it was an excellent day.
I'm off work now and not back until Monday so I'm in great form!

A hard shift on the tables after an extremely boring and long shift at work, there's grinding and there's taking the piss. Won $75 but it took a long time, 1 cup of tea and 3 bottles of bud. The good thing was I got a couple of names into my player notes who bluff with anything and are easy to trap so I hope these boys are regulars! Nothing more noteworthy on the poker front.
Man Utd won the Premiership today thanks to Chelsea only managing a draw at Arsenal so a good day all round. You've got to tip your hat towards Sir Alex Ferguson, that man epitomises the phrase 'fire in your belly' and if I can show any of that hunger towards the limit hold 'em poker I reckon I'll be quids in.

Spent a couple of hours on the tables after work and made very hard work of winning $53 as I went down around $200 at one stage playing 2 tables, just had to grind things out which I successfully did and called it a day as soon as I topped the $50 mark. Had no help from lady luck, I kept flopping draws but couldn't hit, lost a big pot early on after flopping an open ended straight and flush draw with 5 players in the hand and failed to hit. Just stuck with what I call ABC route 1 poker, kept my discipline and finished in profit without losing my rag which is a good sign so I'm happy there.
United beat Man Shitty 1-0 to all but wrap up the Premiership, Cockney Rebel landed the Stan James 2000 Guineas at odds of 25/1 and I managed to watch the Kentucky Derby online to see Street Sense justify favouritism and flyhome from 19th to 1st with a redneck on board. The yanks go overboard big time, winning jockey strutting around on his mount round the track being interviewed by a member of the press who was also on horseback for what seemed an eternity.

Was working on a late shift today and didn't manage any poker before work as I was a bit tired from last nights exploits in the pub poker and subsequent 'some blokes house' poker after that.
Only got home at one on Saturday morning so made a coffee and logged onto Betfair poker for a game, was pleasantly surprised to see my name on a different Betfair account on the Betfair poker leaderboard for medium fixed limit cash games in 2nd place for this month! Then again, this statistic stands at the 3rd day of the month but it's nice to see it up in lights, hopefully it will still be somewhere on the leaderboard at the end of the month although I wouldn't be putting the mortgage on it! Played two tables and made $57 which I was very happy with in a short space of time. Made the money from slow playing trip Aces against a guy who raised pre flop and in my opinion was putting in continuation bets as he couldn't lay down his hand. Also won a nice pot of $45 when my 4,5 made two pair on a flop of 4,5,6 diamonds. Thought I was stuffed but kept calling expecting to be beaten by a flush or a straight but my 2 pair were good, held up and after that I called it a day.
Nothing else of much interest, working the next 6 days on the bounce and then it's 3 days off on the trot so hoping to empty the pockets of a few players then.

An excellent day making a profit of $121 in a relatively short space of time, the bulk of the money coming from making the nut flush, checking on the river, one guy bets, I re-raise and he calls. All of this during a brief morning session before work. Got home from work and had another two very brief sessions netting a further $49 making the full days winnings a healthy $121.
It's a case of so far so good but I'm not getting carried away, it only takes a bad session and a spot of tilt and the whole thing goes tits up.
A funny thing happened today, I used to play on Paddy Power but quit as I wasn't happy with some of the bad beats but basically it was the worst I'd ever seen in an online poker room. I installed Paddy Power poker with the sole intention of setting a deposit limit (which I did) just in case I am ever tempted to go back and what do you know? Paddy gave me a $50 bonus, no doubt missing my custom, even better was that they let me withdraw it. Nice one!
On a sour note United were knocked out of the Champions League by AC Milan losing 3-0 in Milan. I was really looking forward to us playing the scallys in Athens as it would have been a great game for both sets of fans aswell as the neutrals. C'est la vie!

A short but excellent stint at the tables. Played two at the same time and won a monster pot after raising pre flop with pocket 9's, flop came 779 followed by a 9 on the river. Slow played them, bet on the river and was re-raised, sweet. Now over the $600 barrier after making $72 today which was a bit sooner than I had anticipated but am delighted so far.
Had a few beers in the house after work and watched the Liverpool v Chelsea game, Jose must be on a sticky wicket now, good enough for him. He's crossed the line of late and I have no sympathy.
